So a few months ago, I posted on twitter asking for help to recall the name of the first ever j-drama I watched (that wasn't Prince of Tennis related... because that was a whole different rabbit hole, OK?)

Well, I remembered vague details, I knew none of the actors names or anything useful, and yet my TL came through, and supplied me with the name of the drama:

Dare Yori mo Mama wo Aisu

So I'm teaching Alex Japanese, because we'll going there in 2019 and I want him to be able to ask for help if he needs it (he'll be 5 then) and because a second language is never a bad thing. Well, he's pretty much mastered Hiragana. Still working on Katakana (he calls it the lowercase of Hiragana because he's familiar with that concept.)

 I'm not going to write a 'GOALS' list for 2018 or anything. It feels a bit like inviting a crushing sense of failure. And frankly, I did so mach last year without even realising it, it would be hard to improve upon it. I'll settle happily with maintaining this momentum.

But I AM going to Japan (for first time ever) in 2019, so I'm going to spend most of this year in preparation for that.

 .... For Jonnys, at least, are so weird.

I can't contribute much to fandom these days.
My knowledge is outdated, I'm behind on dramas and current events, and I'm only just finding my way with how sub communities work these days.

But I want to do *something* to demonstrate my love for Arashi. So I thought some pic-spam/review type posts for old shows might be fun.

What I am considering is going back through older shows (C-D-G no Arashi, Mago Mago, or Shukudai-kun) and doing a screen-cap heavy recap/commentary type post.

I think it'll also be good practice for getting how DW works.

Will probably start with Shukudai-kun 103, because it is a personal favourite.

Trying to find my way back to fandom (everything's changed!)

Hoping to assist in reviving dead links where possible and permissible.

It’s been a while, huh?
 
So, what happened? Well, it’s far too long and complicated for this quick post so let me sum it up:
 
2010: Real Life gives me rude awakening.
 
As things stand now, I’m currently working 2 jobs and felt like I didn’t have time for any of my hobbies or interests. But for 2011, I am determined to find a new routine and to find a workable balance between what I have to do (work, pay bills… etc.) and what I like to do (lj, writing, sleep… etc.).
 
It may take me a while to properly find my feet, but it will happen.
 
So, do be surprised if I pop up every now and then ^_~
 
And a quick Happy Birthday to ayumi_kitty  and to everyone else who I have missed over the past year!

Obviously, I was unable to post this on Friday as I had planned, and for that I apologise. I am home now, but I also have two miniature houseguests and am playing mummy to two toddlers, which means things are far from normal. The only time I really have even at the computer will be after they’ve gone to bed, so I’m afraid I have to make the last two updates a weekly thing….
