And so…. I have joined the ranks of millions (or at least hundreds of thousands) and fallen for Jonnys’ Entertainment World Domination Plot. Or more specifically, Arashi.

While wondering how I happened to become ensnared I realised I could trace to origins all the way back to my final year of Galaxy Middle School in Florida. And now I shall chronicle the path that led me to where I am today.

Year: 2000 Age: 11 --> Moved to Florida from England. Met kids in class who like Anime. Became interested in Anime.

Year: 2000 Age: 12 --> Later half of the year (entering High School) I took and interest in manga.

Year: 2003 Age: 14 --> Began reading The Prince of Tennis. (and moved back to the UK.)

Year: 2007 Age: 18 --> Found Prince of Tennis Anime on YouTube. Watched them all in three months while recovering from a broken leg.

Year: 2007 Age: 19 --> Became aware of Prince of Tennis Musicals. And became interested in the actors. Watched J-dramas they were in.

Year: 2008 Age: 19 --> Began watching J-Dramas for plots and not for looking for PoT casts.

Year: 2008 Age: 20 --> Watched HYD, YnM, Stand Up, YTM (and others) and noticed the same guys popping up all over the place.

Year: 2009 Age 20 --> Got interested enough to ‘Wiki’ Sakurai Sho. From there, typed ‘Arashi’ into YouTube search.

PRESENT: Total Arashi fangirl….

The four year gap was spent simply not finding any new obsessions. Oh, and my birthday is right in the middle of the year so if the year is the same but the age changed, think of it as the first half and the second half of that year.

I suppose I could simplify it and just say TeniMyu indirectly led me to Arashi, but I wanted to go further than that.
