Coming Out Of The Wilderness....

Hello….?

It’s been a while, huh?

So, what happened? Well, it’s far too long and complicated for this quick post so let me sum it up:

2010: Real Life gives me rude awakening.

As things stand now, I’m currently working 2 jobs and felt like I didn’t have time for any of my hobbies or interests. But for 2011, I am determined to find a new routine and to find a workable balance between what I have to do (work, pay bills… etc.) and what I like to do (lj, writing, sleep… etc.).

It may take me a while to properly find my feet, but it will happen.

So, do be surprised if I pop up every now and then ^_~

And a quick Happy Birthday to

ayumi_kitty and to everyone else who I have missed over the past year!

I Confess, It's A Meme....

It’s been a while since I did a MEME, but I was tagged by

zukkoke_iero so I thought, why not?

The Haunting~

A little announcement from me.

I’m not going anywhere, but posts to my own journal might be a little few and far between for the next month or so. I’m still working on various things and I’ll update when I can, but I’m just taking things more slowly for the moment.

MAHAW!!! Take THAT Gimpy!

Okay, Gimpy, I accepted your challange. I created something cheesy in MS Paint that ISN'T "Just a stick figure" and I have posted it to my LJ. o___O

But serously, you're my sister and I love you, but please don't EVER put ideas like this in my head again. The former gamer-girl can't take it. Also, MS Paint is stupidly addictive. Oddly, a happy(?) side effect of rekindling my old obsession has only sparked my Arashi love more. You have no idea how tempting it was to ignore your [NO JE] rule and at least insert Nino into these things.

When Fandoms Meet or When My Brain Melts. Share the laughter....

Okay, my writing of fanfiction has had to take a backseat over the past two weeks because I’m working to a deadline on a short story for a local college magazine. That doesn’t mean I haven’t written anything, of course, just that everything so far is unfinished.

I have, however, been rekindling one of my old “fandoms” via YouTube. I’ve been a fan of Stephen Lynch for much, much, much longer than Arashi. But because of my Arashi obsession, I haven’t listened to any of his songs in a long time.

He typically does very tongue-in-cheek comedy songs, and the very first one I ever heard was “If I Were Gay.” Well, after listening to it again today for the first time since coming to know Arashi, I couldn’t help but connect the lyrics to my favourite Japanese Idols. If I had any video-making skills, I would so be making a crack-vid for Arashi with this song!

That said– is there anyone on my flist that can make on for me? (OK, I’m kidding mostly, but the idea cracks me up anyway.)

Anyway, I thought I’d share some of the MP3’s I have for some of my favourite songs of his. Umm, there is some harsh language and some people may be offended by the subject matter of some songs, but please be aware that Stephen Lynch is a COMEDIAN.

Kind of a Bio. Kind of Poetic. Kind of Pointless....

Okay, so it occurred to me today that amongst all the posts I write, I rarely post about myself, and therefore my friendlist (on the whole) probably doesn’t know a whole lot about me. That said; I’m not going to post a huge dissertation about myself. Nope. Just some random bits of information that should give you clues to what I’m like as a person.

Goodbye Dear Friend

I love my scanner… It’s been good to me for nearly two years. Sadly, this morning, at 9:15 A.M. it passed away.

While attempting to scan a picture for my story on my behalf, it fell ill. After much fluttering of lights and grinding of gears, it finally flat-lined. Despite extended efforts to resuscitate the downed device, I finally had to give up.

RIP My faithful scanner. You will be missed. (But swiftly replaced on payday.)

On a side note, Chapter One of Spiral (a Sakuraiba story) is finished and will be posted on Friday. Sadly without the picture. As soon as I replace my scanner I will add any missed artwork.
